Every number on AI Mower News should be traceable to where it came from. This page explains the labels you will see and what each one means.
The labels
- Manufacturer-stated: the figure is on the manufacturer’s own page or manual, and we link to it. It is the manufacturer’s claim, not our measurement.
- Reported by a named outlet: the figure comes from another publication or reviewer. The article names them and links to the original.
- Unverified: we could not confirm the figure, or the article does not yet link to its source. Prices are always shown as unverified, with a link to where we found them, because prices change.
- Tested by AI Mower News: not in use. We do not test mowers today. If that changes, the article will say who tested, where, and for how long.
How an article is checked before it goes live
- We fetch the original source. If it cannot be retrieved, the article is held for a person.
- Every price, percentage, area, time and other figure in the draft is compared with the source. A figure that is not in the source holds the article.
- Wording that would imply we tested a product holds the article. So does a “review” headline that does not name the reviewer.
- A story we have already published, even from another outlet, is not published again.
- The figures that pass are recorded with their source and shown under the article in “Sources & evidence”.
The mower database
Our mower pages are being checked one by one against manufacturer pages and manuals. Pages for models we could not find in a manufacturer’s range have been taken offline. Corrected figures carry the manufacturer’s page as their source.
What we cannot promise
Older articles are still being brought up to this standard. Where an older article has no linked source, it carries an “Unverified” or “Source pending” notice at the top. If you spot a problem, tell us: Corrections.
